Artist’s description:

Land naturally goes through times of disaster and destruction in order to renew balance. When the volcano blows, it is releasing a pressure that has been building for many years. We go through times like this in our lives, no matter how we might try to prevent it. Even though it’s scary, it’s a part of life and it’s okay to let things burn when they’re meant to. I saw this image in a dream and although I didn’t understand it at the time, I’m beginning to piece together what the volcano means to me—the volcanos have formed this land in Cauca that I spend time with every year, they have gifted Alexander’s family and me the beautiful soils we paint with, and they show us the power and necessity of deep release. Thank you volcanoes!
I also added an Andean Condor to the scene because they are native to these mountains, and represent power and health—two crucial qualities to fully release. They are the largest flying bird in the world, live up to 70 years, and remind us of the more ancient times on our planet of megaflora and megafauna.
We live on a rich, powerful, humbling planet that demands nothing more than respect and reciprocity. We come from this planet, so we too need respect and reciprocity! Nothing is separate. Everything is related. YOU are related to everything!!
