Artist’s description:

I recently decided to change my screen saver to a photo of me as a child. It was a slightly vulnerable choice for some reason, since whoever is near me can see that I have myself as my screen saver 😅 But every time I see it I smile, because the photo reminds me of how innocent, small and excited I was—and am, still. It’s a little way for me to take care of my inner child, the part of me that loves to get messy and dance around like a loon; the part that still cries for help sometimes and needs a little extra support. The idea for this piece came from the same place of love for that small but very present part of all of us—the part that knows exactly what it wants and exactly what hurts. My goal is to care for and listen to this part of me, instead of treating it like a grumpy babysitter might. Here’s to our inner children—may we all be a little kinder to ourselves today!
